| Cigarettes sales in Great Britain receded after smoking ban in public places
Cigarettes sales in Great Britain receded in July by 11,6% in comparison with July of the last year, reports Telegraph. The results of the corresponding research were published on Wednesday. Sales reduction for two months, July and August estimates at 7,3%. Sales in stores, bars, clubs and restaurants were taken into consideration. The main reason of sales reduction, according to some opinions, is smoking ban in public places indoors, such as offices and pubs, which came into force at 1st of July.
However, in August sales reduction in comparison with the last year, estimated only at 2,8%. The difference in indexes of two summer months is explained by the fact that it was raining in Great Britain during the whole July and it was uncomfortable to smoke outside. In August the weather has picked up and with this the cigarettes sales have increased.
